Micropress has just installed a new proofing system, the Epson SureColor SC-P9000 STD to add to the continued investment across the company.
Our new proofer produces professional, ISO 12647 calibrated proofs of the highest quality, up to 44-inch wide.
We are also now able to reproduce 98% of Pantone-certified colours with accurate reproduction.
What on earth is ISO 12647?
ISO 12647 provides printers with a set of quality control guidelines for their printing process.
The color and transparency of printing inks
Tonal values, which are described with CIELAB values
Tone value increases (TVI), per paper type and color
With this ISO calibration and quality control we can check and verify quality in the production of all printed matter.
Why does ISO and FOGRA matter to me?
The ISO 12647 specifications improves standard process control and tolerances for various printing processes.
Greater precision and colour control between proof and final printed product.
Much improved consistency and quality from proof-to-proof.
What on earth are you talking about?
By calibrating and verifying every proof and print job we produce the colour can be accurately checked both at proof (ISO 12647) and print (FOGRA) stage.
Colour control strips are placed on every job we produce. By measuring these control strips on press we can immediately see that the colour is correct and within tolerances of the FOGRA 39 (coated) or FOGRA 27 (uncoated) standard.
We can then print a verification chart to show the FOGRA target has been met, meaning the proof you see accurately matches the final print you receive.
