Putting the future first
We acknowledge that sustainability is a long-term endeavour, one that can't be achieved overnight. However, by continuously investing in cutting-edge sustainable technologies and adopting eco-friendly production methods, we are proud to be officially certified as a carbon balanced business.
Solar Panels
In 2013, we took a significant step towards sustainability by outfitting our 100,000 sq ft factory with 3034 solar panels, generating an impressive 1105.75kW, which constitutes nearly 24% of our total power consumption. Encompassing virtually the entire roof of our primary facility, this solar array aligns with our continuous commitment to prioritise eco-friendliness year after year. As expressed by Mike Cross, Chairman, 'We consistently strive to enhance our environmental initiatives and diminish our reliance on imported energy sources.'
Our Sustainability Commitment
In our ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and promote sustainability, we are committed to using environmentally friendly materials in our printing processes. We believe that sustainable materials and processes are not only better for the environment but also for our customers and the wider community.
Furthermore, as part of our commitment to sustainable practices, we have taken proactive steps to enhance our environmental efforts. We have made a significant investment in a biomass boiler, which substantially reduces our reliance on non-renewable energy sources, leading to lower carbon emissions.
We source our paper from suppliers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). These certifications ensure that the paper we use originates from responsibly managed forests and other controlled sources that comply with strict environmental, social, and economic standards. In addition, we also employ materials such as vegetable ink, recycled stock, non-toxic binding glues, and biodegradable laminates.
We take pride in our certifications, including being FSC® certified, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 certified. Looking ahead, we remain committed to proactively investing in renewable technologies and processes to further support our environmental initiatives, all in pursuit of a greener and more sustainable future.
